Entropic Communications and Wi3 have created a new home networking adapter, the Wi3 WiPNET, based on the multimedia over coax (MoCA) standard. The Wi3 WiPNET mounts into a standard wall bracket. Users plug their router into any self-configuring WiPNET port to turn the coax infrastructure in the home into an Ethernet network.
"Our patented wall port design coupled with Entropic’s field proven MoCA technology, allows installers to easily, reliably and cost-effectively add a MoCA network to any home with coaxial cabling," said Bill Thomson, chief executive officer of Wi3, in a statement.
The Wi3 WiPNET delivers high quality bandwidth to as many as 16 locations throughout the home.
