Entropic MoCA 2.0 Production Version Moves Forward
Connected-home semiconductor provider Entropic Communications Inc. now is in the production-shipment stage for its MoCA 2.0 (Multimedia over Coax) silicon?and software solution.
The company claims to be the first company to deliver MoCA 2.0 production silicon. Production silicon, software and reference platforms are available now.
Entropic says its production version has been tested to the latest draft of the MoCA certification test plan and meets all the MoCA 2.0 performance requirements. Features include:?
>> MAC, PHY, analog, RF transceiver and RF front-end functionality;
>> Net throughput (MAC) rates of 400 Mbps over 16 nodes and 500 Mbps for 2-node Turbo mode;
>> Backward interoperability with MoCA 1.1 and 1.0;
>> Low-power modes with wake-on-MoCA to address energy-conservation initiatives;
>> Packet error rates better than 1e-6 and a low latency of 3.5 ms; and
>> 40 nm semiconductor wafer process.??
