Sister pub CableFAX Daily reports that Comcast plans to launch phone service in Baltimore in July and a rolling launch of its phone service in Washington, DC, next month, with all DC subscribers having access to the service by the end of the year. Comcast currently has 25,000 subs in the Baltimore-Washington market. In other Comcast telephony news, Motorola has announced that Comcast is placing an order for Motorola SBV5220 EMTAs. Comcast expects to offer the Motorola EMTA in the second half of 2006 to Comcast Digital Voice customers nationwide, according to the press release.
