Communications Technology Names Baker as New Editor
Communications Technology magazine and Cable360.net/ct, an Access Intelligence, LLC property, today announced the appointment of Debra Baker, a long-time telecommunications-industry journalist, as its new editor.
Baker will be responsible for overall editorial direction and content regarding Communications Technology magazine; and its website, webcasts and e-letters.
“Debra has extensive knowledge of the broadband industry on many levels. By utilizing her experience and background, we will build upon our strong technical content, providing the reader with expanded industry coverage,” commented Tish Drake, publisher, Communications Technology. “She is a valued addition to the team, and I anticipate her playing a large role in our forward progress.”
Baker brings to Communications Technology nearly 30 years of reporting experience, covering the international business, technology, legislative, regulatory and convergence aspects of the communications industry as a whole. Formerly with T3i Group LLC, Baker was managing editor for that company’s daily telecommunications-industry e-letter; and for its bi-weekly newsletters addressing wireless, broadband and policy.
She also has worked for several well-known publishing groups (including Crain, Horizon House and Intertec), consulting firms (The Strategis Group and BIA Consulting [now BIA/Kelsey]) and trade associations (Telocator [now PCIA]). In addition, she has moderated or participated in numerous industry-related panels and webcasts, and educational panels. She sits on the board of directors of the Radio Club of America.
