Winner
AMC – AMCtv.com
Whether it’s the Web-only mini-series “The Walking Dead: Cold Storage” or Hank’s Blog written from the perspective of a “Breaking Bad” character, AMC seems to constantly raise the bar for what’s possible on a network site. Its social media integration, including award-winning 2nd screen apps and even games centered around popular shows, remain a prime example of how far a cable net can go to solidify relationships with fans and use the Internet to bolster linear viewing. Look no further than AMC’s ratings for the evidence, but its online traffic has also grown exponentially (up 82% in 2012). Its monthly newsletter subs are up 37%, and The Walking Dead’s Facebook followers now exceed 12 million. Not bad.
