The Swedish company Edgeware, a provider of flash memory-based server systems for network-deployed video delivery, today announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters in San Jose, CA. The new office will provide sales, customer support and engineering services.

The company said David Appleman, a former Motorola senior sales executive, will lead all Edgeware sales efforts in the Americas. Additionally, Edgeware announced it has secured $8 million in series B financing led by new investor, Micron Technology.

Edgeware’s target American customers include cable MSOs, telcos and over-the-top video providers.
