DTC Communications, a telephone cooperative serving rural areas of Tennessee, has chosen and deployed Fujitsu Network Communications’ NETSMART 1500 Hosted Element Management System (HEMS) service to manage and monitor its network of approximately 20 network elements.

Fujitsu hosts the NETSMART 1500 software in Richardson, TX, at the company’s NOC, running on a dedicated server with redundancy in Sunnyvale, CA. The Hosted EMS service offers Fujitsu customers access to the NETSMART 1500 application as a client, and provides the customer with fault, performance and management control.

DTC delivers basic telephone, wireless and video service, as well as advanced broadband communications, to their customers. They needed to monitor their network efficiently using a cost-effective solution for their network size, without significantly increasing staff overhead and workload. The Madison Group, a Fujitsu reseller, sold the Hosted EMS service to DTC.
