Spike TV slammed the door on WWE, leaving the door open for the wrestlers to return to USA, their former home after Sept. Spike will bulk up original programming and new acquisitions, a Spikesperson said. At issue: A hike in rights fees that would have seen Spike parent Viacom forking over about $40mln/year. The 2-hr "WWE Raw" was the highest- rated program on cable last week among 18-49s.
