Goodman/CSI Buy Aims To Boost DAS, Small-Cell Sales
Goodman Networks Inc., which provides design, engineering, deployment, integration and maintenance of U.S wireless networks, is buying the Services Division of N.H.-based Cellular Specialties Inc. The purchase is viewed as a way to strengthen Goodman’s provisioning of in-building distributed antenna systems (DAS), small cells and Wi-Fi offload. CSI head Kelley Carr and 108 employees will transition to Goodman, with Carr continuing to lead and manage the CSI Solutions Group; he will report to Goodman COO Cari Shyiak.
RELM Ramps Texas Public-Safety Contracts
RELM Wireless Corporation entered into a master agreement with Harris County (Houston) to provide public-safety P25 subscriber radios for operation on the county’s TXWARN radio system. RELM notes it’s one of three companies that received master agreements, and the maximum total value of such agreements is $1 million for all suppliers; RELM’s agreement has a one-year base period that started Jan. 29, and four one-year option periods for Harris County. The company sold some $2 million worth of P25 subscriber radios to Harris County last year.
