SintecMedia Buys StorerTV
Broadcast-management-software developer SintecMedia is the new owner of StorerTV, a North American provider of media program and contract-rights-management software solutions; no financial details were disclosed. StorerTV clients now will be able to access OnAir, SintecMedia’s scalable, all-in-one solution as well as its related products; StorerTV’s SIMS platform also will be integrated with OnAir, providing best-in-class non-linear distribution capabilities.

Gigastone Includes Altair Chips In Future LTE Wi-Fi Gear
The FourGee LTE chipset made by Altair Semiconductor will be used by Gigastone to power its LTE-enabled SmartBox product, an all-in-one, portable Wi-Fi/LTE router that enables secure file storage and cloud access, content sharing and streaming, and mobile power charging. The 3100/6202 chipset is one of the first to win Verizon Wireless LTE chipset certification. Gigastone says time to market and cost controls entered into its decisionmaking process.

T-Mobile Pitches, Wins MLB Business
T-Mobile USA, currently a sponsor of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Seattle Mariners, now is the official wireless sponsor for Major League Baseball (MLB), which hasn’t partnered with a carrier in years. The multiyear, multimillion-dollar-partnership includes a new 4G on-field communication system connecting managers in select Major League dugouts to coaches in bullpens. MLB Advanced Media LP, which develops, deploys and distributes what is says is the top-ranked sports mobile application of all-time — MLB.com At Bat —will work with T-Mobile to create custom content exclusively for T-Mobile customers, and to develop promotional opportunities and offers for MLB.com content. It looks like a win/win for both teams, with MLB managers getting better wireless access and T-Mobile sports-hungry subs gaining more content—with the price TBD. In addition, the carrier will be the presenting sponsor of ESPN’s "Wednesday Night Baseball," including on-air, digital and mobile-sponsorship initiatives.
