Deals Of The Day 11/01/12
Earlier today, NetScout Systems Inc. purchased privately held, N.J.-based ONPATH Technologies, a provider of scalable monitoring connectivity solutions for high-performance networks that aggregate and distribute network traffic for data, voice and video testing, monitoring, performance management and cybersecurity deployments. According to the buyer, the ONPATH acquisition brings high-density modular network monitoring switch products with an advanced centralized management system that allows simple point-and-click provisioning and secure control of large network monitoring switch deployments. NetScout will leverage ONPATH’s next-gen technology to deliver a modular chassis-based switching product portfolio supporting more than 500 ports of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) per chassis along with densities for 40 GbE and future support for 100 GbE interfaces…Smartphone maker Coolpad Americas wrapped the IR-92 compliant VoLTE interoperability Testing (IOT) of its Quattro 4G series of smartphones with the 4G integrated Hellosoft VoLTE mobile device client, licensed from Imagination Technologies. HelloSoft VoLTE and V.VoIP (voice and video over IP) mobile-device clients help deliver Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice Call Continuity (VCC), Video and Voice over IP (V.VoIP), SMS over IP and Rich Communication Services (RCS)… The Serial RapidIO Gen2 MegaCore function intellectual property (IP), developed by Altera Corporation, just completed full hardware interoperability with the latest RapidIO switch from Integrated Device Technology (IDT), operating at 6.25 Gbaud per lane implemented on a 28 nm Altera Strati V FPGA. By verifying interoperability up front, Altera and IDT enable customers deploying RapidIO to reduce interface debug time and focus on the core functions of system design. The two worked together to interoperate the Altera product with IDT’s 80HCPS1848 switch in x1, x2 and x4 lane configurations from 6.25G up to 25G of aggregate bandwidth…FOX Technology Group deployed Triveni Digital‘s StreamScope MT-40 real-time DTV transport stream monitor with ATSC-Mobile/Handheld (M/H) capabilities in its DTV lab facility. FOX says it can “more efficiently analyze the integrity of terrestrial and mobile transport streams for affiliate stations and monitor new mobile broadcast equipment, providing viewers with a flawless experience on any TV or smartphone device. The StreamScope MT-40 performs real-time, detailed analysis for multiple terrestrial and mobile transport streams over all commonly encrypted physical layers; engineers can review error alerts, live video thumbnails, cross-table analyses, program guides, detailed charts, dynamic graphs, and system logs.
