Clearlake Capital Group L.P. is the new owner of NetMotion Wireless Inc., a provider of mobile virtual private network (VPN) and network performance management software solutions. No financial details were disclosed. Chris Gibbons, a Clearlake operating partner and a former Microsoft CIO, will serve as NetMotion’s board chair…SaskTel and Huawei say they will launch an eight-month 2.5 GHz TDD-LTE fixed wireless trial in at least three Saskatchewan locations to determine whether it is feasible to provide wireless broadband and voice services to rural customers using Huawei solutions and equipment. When the trial concludes at the end of August 2013, the partners will analyze the results, and provide a report that includes an economic overview for the replacement of parts of SaskTel’s rural copper network…Clearwire Corporation and IT provider EarthLink Inc. announced a wholesale agreement that will enable EarthLink to offer its customers high-speed fixed and mobile broadband service using Clearwire’s 4G network. EarthLink’s service initially will target consumers for in-home use, and is expected to launch in early 2013. Future product offerings will include mobile devices and new services for small business customers.
