Cisco wrapped its purchase of video software and content security solutions provider NDS Group Ltd. (click here for more information). NDS staffers now are part of Cisco’s Service Provider Video Technology Group (SPVTG), led by Senior Vice President/GM Jesper Andersen. Dr. Abe Peled, formerly NDS chairman and CEO, becomes senior vice president/chief strategist for Cisco’s Video and Collaboration Group, of which SPVTG is a part, reporting to Marthin De Beer, senior vice president/Video and Collaboration Group…U.K.-based satellite operator ViewSat deployed a digital video headend based on Harmonic‘s video-processing solutions to “more efficiently allocate satellite bandwidth for its direct-to-home service.” Its subs in Africa and the Middle East are the first beneficiaries…According to Apriva, its wireless point-of-sale (POS) gateway processed more than $2 billion in wireless payment transactions during 2Q12, up nearly 17 percent year over year. The company processed $1.8 billion in wireless transactions during the first half of the year, up 19 percent from a year ago…Applied Global Technologies (AGT) says MCPc, a nationwide technology products-and-solutions provider and Cisco Gold Partner, has joined its partner program. MCPc will add AGT’s mobile-video-conferencing technology and managed services to its current offering portfolio, including the EncoreB2B product, a mobile video platform that attaches to Cisco, Polycom, Compunetix and Microsoft Lync infrastructures.

Charter Posts First Video Gains Since 2020

Charter’s streak of video declines came to a halt Friday when the company announced 44,000 total video net additions in 4Q25. And while it might not be a trend Charter sees as holding true in the long term, for now, it can celebrate a feat it hasn’t been able to say in 21 quarters.
