Sprint Upgrades Its Support Of Israeli LTE Lab
Later this year, Sprint plans to commit financially to a LTE acceleration lab in Tel Aviv in collaboration with the Israel Mobile & Media Association (IMA). While it supported the lab in the past, Sprint’s new role will be to enable startups and developers to access the platforms they need to “ideate and build” with minimal carrier direction. Sprint also will use its vendor relationships to let the IMA trial and test its new products on the latest LTE network technology and advanced mobile devices. Equipment will be provided by Alcatel-Lucent, and the lab will collaborate with its ng Connect Program, an Alcatel-Lucent-founded multi-industry group. As a supporter, Sprint also could have first crack at new developments coming out of the lab.
