Approx 50 Comcast technicians in Chicago staged a 1-day walkout Thurs to protest an ongoing labor dispute. The former collective bargaining agreement between the MSO and the local chapter of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers expired May 31, and the sides have yet to ink a renewal. Comcast rep Rich Ruggiero said Comcast met in good faith with union reps on Thurs and that no customers were affected by the walkout. The West Courtland St office houses just 3% of Comcast’s area tech force, he said.
