Day at the Races

Those attending HRTV’s sky suite party Sat at the 131st Preakness Stakes got a bird’s eye view of favorite Barbaro’s heartbreaking injury. "That’s a bad omen," one HRTV partygoer eerily predicted when Barbaro broke through the gate before the race started. When the accident happened, HRTV attendees had a clear view of the scene below, watching as an equine ambulance rushed onto the track. Audible moans were heard when a tent was brought out-a sign that a horse will be put down-and there was a collective sigh of relief when the tent was dismantled and Barbaro was cajoled into the ambulance. The injury was a sad cap to an otherwise pleasant afternoon at the races, with Cfax winning $24 on Preakness winner Bernardini. Drinks on us next time…
