Quotable

“It’s harder for brands to come in [with product integration] in Season 2, especially for categories that are really important to the storytelling. If you think about [Showtime’s] ‘Ray Donovan,’ he was established in Season 1 in a Mercedes. We worked for four seasons to change that to a Cadillac. I think it took us actually five seasons to get that transition to happen through the right model… We encourage every brand to understand that the creative is going to drive the final decision. Cadillac was very patient. They’re great partners, and they just were continually pitching Liev Schreiber, Showtime on what was coming down the pipeline. Finally there was a transitional moment in which Ray Donovan and his family were moving to the East Coast from the West Coast, so there was an opportunistic moment for there to be a car shift. Cadillac had just released the XT6… All the star aligned.”
