Cox Communications-Las Vegas is today unveiling what it claims to be the fastest non-fiber Internet speeds available in the state of Nevada during a news conference to demonstrate Ultimate Internet. Powered by DOCSIS 3.0 technology, Ultimate Internet provides 50 Mbps download speed and 5 Mbps upload speed.

At the news conference, the company will conduct a side-by-side broadband speed test that will pit its 50 Mbps service against a common speed of 1 Mbps and the key local competitor’s top-speed of 10 Mbps.

Ultimate Internet is now available to homes and businesses in Southern Nevada. The standard price for the residential Ultimate Internet will be $119.99 per month. Customers will need to purchase a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem; previous versions of the DOCSIS modem do not have the advanced technology for operation of the Ultimate Internet. DOCSIS 3.0 modems are available through major electronics retailers. Cox Las Vegas also offers them for sale for $99.99. Professional installation through Cox Communications is required for new and existing customers.
