Cisco has teamed with Cox Communications to deploy the Cox DOCSIS 3.0-based Ultimate Internet service, with up to 50 Mbps downstream, to its customers in Rhode Island. Cox is also offering its New England business customers a new premium package with the DOCSIS 3.0 technology, offering enhanced support for corporate e-mail, online research and Web-based business applications.

Cox deployed its Ultimate Internet service package with Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 technologies in additional markets earlier this year, including Lafayette Parish, LA; Northern Virginia; and Palos Verdes, CA.
