Concurrent announced the next generation of software for its MediaHawk VX content delivery product, which now enables operators to stream video content over both private and public networks to reach more screens.

“A growing number of consumers are viewing video content on a myriad of devices using Internet based OTT services like Netflix,” said Concurrent CTO Bob Chism. “Multi-channel video service providers can use our unified content delivery solution to launch their own brand of services that reach consumers beyond the boundaries of their own networks.” Chism said ops can now use MediaHawk’s system to deliver OTT content as well as linear TV content going to traditional set tops.

Existing Concurrent customers can upgrade their currently deployed, and the company is also exhibiting at the 2013 IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam Sept 13-17.
