Concurrent has announced an innovation to its Video Solutions portfolio: Video to the PC, which will allow broadband operators to utilize their existing Concurrent infrastructure to deliver commercial grade video through high-speed Internet connections to online viewers. Video to the PC makes it possible for subscribers to access both live broadcast video and on-demand content through a PC with no additional hardware requirements.

Video to the PC is an extension of Concurrent’s MediaHawk platform, which provides ingest, storage and distribution. Concurrent’s Video Solutions use commercial off the shelf hardware and run on military-grade Linux, so they have the flexibility to work with different back offices and network configurations. This open modularity means operators can easily deploy Video to the PC by turning on software functionality within their existing infrastructure.

In other news, Concurrent announced that Portugal’s ZON TV Cabo will deploy Concurrent’s media data management solutions and operational reporting services. Concurrent will provide ZON with a software as a service (SaaS) solution for monitoring video usage, census-level media data management, and operational analytics.
