Evolution Digital and Conax have announced an exclusive technology partnership to integrate the Conax CA technology into a full range of DTAs and advanced Set-top boxes. As part of the partnership, Conax has chosen Evolution as exclusive supplier to the North American cable TV market. Evolution will provide all product and in-country support for both end-users and integrators.

In addition, Conax and Evolution are working closely with CableLabs for the testing and certification of a CableCard to meet FCC requirements for separable Security. The product will be an Evolution product with Conax encryption, and is expected to be available in Evolution’s full range of tru2way MPEG-4 HD and HD PVR set-top boxes. Availability is planned for the first quarter of 2009.

Cable TV’s Customer Satisfaction Gains

JD Power’s 2026 U.S. Television Service Provider Satisfaction Study shows how MVPDs are continuing to make headway in customer satisfaction. This year’s study, covering August 2025 through July, saw cable and satellite raise their score by 18 points YOY to a segment average of 549 (on 1,000-point scale).
