FiOS TV plans to add this summer more than 60 new channels, including 25 HD nets such as Lifetime, Animal Planet, Outdoor Channel and Smithsonian Net; 15 multi-cultural channels targeting Arabic, Portuguese and Russian audiences, among others; and sports nets such as Setanta Sports. Verizon will bow the content region by region beginning in Jul. — AT&T has launched Net Reach, a service bundle providing home and mobile HSI services and free access to more than 17K Wi-Fi hotspots. The bundle is available to new and existing residential and small business customers who subscribe to the telco’s HSI and LaptopConnect services, and requires that subs combine their wireless and wireline services onto 1 billing statement. — DirecTV will launch Wed Azteca Mexico, a new satellite-only channel offering exclusive programming from TV Azteca‘s 3 Mexican nets. — MediaFLO, ESPN and NBC will provide live coverage of all 4 days of this year’s US Open golf tourney (Jun 12-15) through the FLO TV service, available to certain AT&T and Verizon wireless customers.
