Comcast programming president Jeff Shell is staffing up. Shell’s division, Comcast Networks, has been advertising on CTAM’s website for an array of positions. One opening, in particular, caught our eye. The newly created position of VP, alternate technology, will be responsible for distributing Comcast’s portfolio of networks to video providers that compete with the company’s cable operations. The job description calls for pitching the networks and their related advanced services to potential affiliates "including but not limited to hotels/in-flight/cruiseline/telcos/wireless/overbuilders." We’d love to be a fly on the wall in those negotiations. The following jobs were still open at press time (all inquiries can be directed to [email protected]): Chief financial officer, OLN (Stamford, Conn.) VP, research, Comcast Networks (New York) VP, alternate technology (Philadelphia) Regional manager, affiliate relations—East (Philadelphia) Regional director, affiliate relations—Northeast (New York) Regional director, affiliate relations—West (Los Angeles) Senior manager, affiliate marketing, E!
