Comcast continues its roll out of wideband DOCSIS 3.0, announcing two new Interent speed tiers in metro Richmond, VA. The Extreme 50 tier offers download speeds of up to 50 Mbps and up to 10 Mbps of upstream speed. The Ultra tier offers up to 22 Mbps of downstream speed and up to 5 Mbps of upstream speed.

This month, Comcast will begin to roll out the new services to residential homes and businesses throughout the communities it serves in the metro Richmond area, including the city of Richmond as well as Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico and Powhatan Counties. The entire metro Richmond area is expected to have wideband by first quarter 2010.
