All that work on Xfinity and X1 has started to pay off for Marcien Jenckes, who is moving up the food chain to evp, consumer services at the nation’s largest cable operator. Jenckes, most recently Comcast Cable svp/gm of video services, will head Comcast Cable’s new Consumer Services Group, which combines all of Comcast Cable’s consumer business units including video, Internet, phone and home. He’ll report to Comcast Cable evp/COO Dave Watson.
“Marcien is an exceptional leader who has been a driving force behind the evolution of our video business,” said Watson. “His operational expertise, combined with his digital and entrepreneurial background, makes him uniquely positioned for this job and I am confident that the consolidation of our products under Marcien’s leadership will bring significant benefits to our customers and our business.”
Jenckes was instrumental in rolling out Comcast’s Xfinity TV products, including integration into the Xbox 360, as well as Xfinity TV and Player apps. Jenckes also led the roll out of the X1 Platform, a cloud-enabled platform that will transform the TV into an entirely new integrated entertainment experience.
