Cogeco Cable has signed a Master Purchase Agreement naming Concurrent the preferred provider for video technology for Cogeco’s on-demand offering in all of Cogeco’s Canadian markets. The multi-year deal is intended to support expansion and upgrades to Cogeco’s existing on-demand platform and give the operator the opportunity to launch a host of new services to its 400,000 digital subscribers in Quebec and Ontario, including time-shifted TV, network DVR and advanced advertising.

Cogeco’s existing systems will be upgraded and expanded using Concurrent’s MediaHawk 4500 video servers with the latest Linux-based MediaHawk software release.
