Comcast Media Center (CMC) is preparing to support the distribution of Latin American video programming into the North American video market. The CMC’s video content solutions include transmission (satellite, fiber, IPTV), network origination and playout, video on demand distribution (VOD), live events distribution and disaster recovery/business continuity. ?

The CMC’s capabilities include a 35,000 square-foot earth station with 36 dedicated uplink antennas (C-band and Ku-band), distribution in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4, visibility into the Atlantic and Pacific operating regions, and access to satellites reaching most continents.

“Our support for Latin American video companies is a natural extension of the work we are already doing for a number of leading Spanish-language television networks and on demand programming providers in the United States,” said Gary Traver, SVP and COO of the Comcast Media Center, in a statement.
