ARRIS announced that its Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Tom Cloonan, has been elevated to the rank of Fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), singled out for his leadership in the development of Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS).

Recognizing the achievements of its members is an important part of the mission of the IEEE. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for one of the Institute’s most prestigious honors. Dr. Cloonan will become an IEEE Fellow effective January 1, 2010.
