Clearwire Communications has announced it will launch its Clear 4G mobile Internet service in 10 more markets September 1. The markets are: Boise, ID; Bellingham, WA; and eight markets throughout Texas, including Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Killeen/Temple, Waco and Wichita Falls.

Clearwire’s 4G network is now available in four markets: Atlanta; Baltimore; Las Vegas and Portland, OR. The company plans to bring Clear to 80 markets covering up to 120 million people by the end of 2010. (For more, click here).

Cable Tells FCC to Say No to Forced ATSC 3.0 Transition

Cable is pushing back against a broadcast proposal for a mandatory ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV transition, saying it would be costly and unwanted by consumers. NAB wants the FCC to require most stations to fully transition to ATSC 3.0 by February 2028.
