Previously, Stanton served as chairman and CEO of Western Wireless Corporation from 1992 until shortly after its acquisition by ALLTEL Corporation in 2005.

Earlier this month the Clearwire Board of Directors appointed Benjamin Wolff as a director of the company following Craig McCaw’s board resignation. In addition to Stanton and Wolff, the Clearwire board includes William Blessing, Mufit Cinali, Jose Collazo, Peter Currie, Hossein Eslambolchi, Dennis Hersch, Frank Ianna, Brian McAndrews, William Morrow, Theodore Schell, and Arvind Sodhani.
