Charter Communications has named Gregory Rigdon as executive vice president of corporate development and strategy. Rigdon’s responsibilities will include helping build the strategy to support the company’s commitment to operational and service excellence and long-term growth. He will also continue to lead Charter’s negotiations with programmers, vendors and strategic partners.

Rigdon has served as senior vice president of business development since joining Charter in 2006. Prior to joining Charter, Rigdon served as vice president of programming, strategy and business development for America Online, Inc., where he structured and negotiated all content licensing and acquisitions for the AOL Network and developed programming strategies across AOL’s vertical content areas.
