Cablevision’s Optimum WiFi, part of cable’s initiative to allow subs of the 5 participating companies to access each other’s WiFi networks, has increased its coverage to 100K hotspots in the Tri-State area. It allows Optimum Online subs to access WiFi as part of their broadband service for free.

In addition to extending its WiFi coverage, the op recently upped broadband speeds across-the-board for residential and business subs, following a partnership with Time Warner Cable and NYC to launch public WiFi in 32 parks across the 5 boroughs.

“More than one million of our broadband customers are using Optimum WiFi, providing them with the maximum connectivity that today’s digital lifestyle demands,” said Gemma Toner, Cablevision’s SVP of broadband product management. Optimum WiFi hotspots are easy to locate using the Optimum WiFi Finder app.

Customers can then sign in using their Optimum ID and password and can select the convenient “Automatic Sign In” feature if they’d like to connect to hotspots without re?entering their log?in information.
