Cablevision Systems Corporation has announced the promotion of James Blackley to executive vice president of corporate engineering and technology. In this new position, Blackley will continue to serve as Cablevision’s chief engineering executive with oversight of the company’s engineering and technology, Enterprise IT and e-media departments. He continues to report to Cablevision’s Chief Operating Officer Tom Rutledge.   
 
As executive vice president, Blackley works with Cablevision’s executive team on the ongoing evolution of the company’s strategic vision by assisting with critical objectives related to engineering and technology.

Rutledge said in a statement, “Jim’s understanding of software creation and development has become even more important as Cablevision has evolved. Now that we have a network capable of delivering an entire suite of advanced digital services, our focus is on developing new interactive technologies that enhance those products even further and that provide maximum value for consumers.”
