The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced that CableLabs is among the recipients of the 62nd Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards.

Launched in 1948, the Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards honor development and innovation in broadcast technology and recognize companies, organizations and individuals for breakthroughs in technology that have a significant effect on television engineering.

CableLabs was honored for its development work on Data over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) 3.0 and broadband video. This technology enables cable operators to bond multiple cable channels such that hundreds of megabits per second of data may be delivered to consumers.

The Emmy will be presented in Las Vegas on January 6.
