CableFAX publisher Access Intelligence has acquired Cynopsis Media, which publishes daily and weekly eletters for digital media, television, sports media and kids marketing businesses. The purchase also includes Cynopsis’ classified ads business and Website, cynopsis.com.
TV business vet Cynthia Turner will serve as founder and publisher of the Cynopsis Group, under Diane Schwartz, svp of Access Intelligence’s Media and Communications Group. Schwartz said of Turner: “Her core television property rounds out our Cable Group and her launches provide very high quality platforms for expansion into two hugely important vertical marketing sectors—children and sports.”
Turner says the acquisition will expand Cynopsis’ reach: “Utilizing the much larger AI platform, we will be able to extend Cynopsis beyond the business of eletters into several new areas.”
This is AI’s third acquisition in six months, following the January purchase of OR Manager, the media brand and annual educational conference for operating room executives, managers and hospital directors, and the acquisition of events and media business specialists Red7 Media in February.
With the integrated media company comprised of Red7 and Cynopsis, and the OR Manager’s healthcare portfolio addition, Access Intelligence pres/CEO Don Pazour said AI expects to continue “an aggressive plan of organic and acquisition growth across these two core groups within the company.”
