Winner
James Williams – Discovery Communications
An integral part of the Discovery News team, James Williams and his stellar work has certainly gotten him noticed lately. And our judges were especially impressed by (and jealous of) the fascinating nature of his job, which essentially allows him to ponder big questions—and then get them answered using his skills as a video editor and producer. Could “Humanzees” exist? Does the movie Caddyshack contain science? Could you make a volcano erupt? Are you kidding us? We want this guy’s job! But seriously, Williams brings a curiosity and—dare we say—a certain whimsy that’s infectious (although not as infectious as the “DJ Got Us Falling in Love” lip-synching video, which Williams recently dissected with the help of a communications expert to determine why it’s so popular). And when Williams creates his own lip-synching video, we’ll try to find an award for it.
