If you love NASCAR (and we know you do), then Turner Sports’ RaceBuddy app ranks right up there with food, water and shelter on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. For NASCAR on TNT, this is where it gets interesting: Turner Sports, which handles NASCAR’s Web and app presence, really infused video into this app this year, giving users a way to check 11 different camera views for all 6 covered Sprint Cup races. And furthermore, this new focus on video came from fans’ input. They asked for more video, and Turner Sports listened. We like that. Using NASCAR.com to market the functionality, RaceBuddy saw significant growth in 2011, led by a 138% increase in video streams vs. 2010, and it has delivered well over 5 million video streams this year.
