EPIX – The Long Khan, an interactive promotion for EPIX Pictures Presentation: The Captains
In The Long Khan promotion fans were challenged to recreate William Shatner’s epic “Khan!” scream at the end of “Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.” Each user-generated cry was added to an online stream, creating the “longest Khan in history.” Fans also got a personalized video of their own scream edited with Shatner’s original one, which they then shared on social platforms. The goal was to generate awareness of EPIX Pictures’ doc “The Captains, A Film By William Shatner” and “Shatnerpalooza,” a 48-hour programming marathon of the actor’s work. Captain Kirk himself even made an impromptu appearance a Star Trek Convention to lead the crowd in a group scream. Genius.
