Charter Communications – Charter Center Stage
It’s almost too cool to have come from an operator—but guess what? It did. Charter Center Stage gave musical hopefuls hailing from Charter’s 11 regions a way to get discovered through an online Battle of the Bands held concurrently on an integrated microsite, mobile site and Facebook app. The winning band got $25K and an all-expenses paid trip to play the Charter Center Stage festival at Willow Island in Madison, WI—gaining massive exposure in the process. In all, a whopping 570 bands submitted entry videos, 316 of which were accepted to participate in the contest, and fans submitted 55K votes for their favorite acts. The contest paid big dividends for Charter as it sought to reach the coveted 18-34 demo, gaining more than 80 million social media impressions and nearly 10 million through blogs and online influencer communities. Rock on, Charter. Rock on.
