Kim Martin
Title: President/GM, WE tv
Last Year: #79
Age: Let’s just say I’m in the WE tv demo
Education: Georgia College, BS, Political Science; Georgia State U, MBA

Why Her? One of cable’s truly nice execs, Martin led WE to record ratings for original programming three times this year with in-turn premieres of High School Confidential, the fifth season of Bridezillas and The Locator, which drew 1.3mln HHs. The successes brought her the network president title in Sept. Once a humble stepsister to Lifetime and Oxygen, WE is soaring. 2Q’ 08 was WE’s strongest ever, with viewers up 45% among women 18-49 and 52% among women 18-34.

Worth Watching: WE is well-positioned as a formidable incumbent to face Oprah’s OWN, set to launch next year.
Proud Moment: Ratings aside, we
applaud Martin’s infectious push to get out the vote for the presidential election.

Year Ahead:
Martin and WE clearly are on a roll.

Favorite Restaurant: I don’t have to cook? They’re all my favorite.

Drink of Choice:  A victory toast!

I Wish My Kids Would: Continue growing into independent women while occasionally still needing their mom

Favorite Word: “WE”—it sounds so inclusive

Favorite Sports Team:  Well, once I open my mouth, you know I’m no Yankee!

Hero: The voter
