Tom Might

Title: President, CEO, Cable ONE
Age: 58
Education: BS, Georgia Tech; MBA, Harvard

Why Him? Might led the fight for an FCC waiver allowing the MSO to deploy low-cost, one-way set-tops with integrated security and HD capabilities in one of Cable ONE’s systems. It marked the first time a traditional cable operator received a waiver that included HD boxes, raising hopes for significantly cheaper high-def boxes for everyone. When he’s not working, he’s sailing — making the trip between Texas and D.C. a couple of times each year.

Worth Watching: With waiver in hand, we’ll be anticipating Cable ONE taking its systems all digital.

The Year Ahead:

That FCC waiver should help. A lot.
