Tom Might
Title: President/CEO, Cable ONE
Age: 57, last time I checked
Ed: Georgia Tech, BS, Industrial Engineering; Harvard Business School, MBA

Why Him? Might’s top 10 cable op (it has 700K+ basic subs) pulls in consistently strong numbers for The Washington Post Co. That’s especially important given the slump in newspaper advertising (see Might’s answer for the best business advice he’s received). Since the company acquired the cable division in ’86, revenue has increased to more than $700mln from $85mln. Might’s also built a reputation as a good guy to have around in an emergency — be it weather or retrans.

Proud Moment: Naming the company’s first SVPs ever, in May: Steve Fox and Julie Laulis.

Year Ahead:
We’re betting Might will have serious retrans battles to fight.
