Why Them? Bright House continues to shine, er, brightly. This top-10 MSO with systems clustered mostly in central FL remains a force in the industry. And that’s in no small part because of the excellent management team headed by patriarch Bob Miron, and ably managed by son Steve and daughter Nomi Bergman. It’s not a surprise that Bright House scored highest in the South in the latest J.D. Power surveys measuring customer satisfaction in the telephony and ISP categories.

Worth Watching: With fewer resources than the largest MSOs, it will be interesting to see how Bright House proceeds with big industry initiatives such as authentication and the Clearwire venture, in which it’s a partner.

Year Ahead:

It’s not easy to be a mid-size operator amid a sluggish economy and fierce competition, but Bright House’s focus on customer service bodes well for continued success.
