Suddenlink smashed LIN TV’s latest hardball retrans play out of Austin, TX, inking Thurs a long-term retrans deal with another area NBC affil, KCEN. The pact includes the station’s high-def signal, affording the MSO’s area subs access to HD NBC content for the 1st time. “By rejecting all of our proposals to date… LIN TV left us with no choice but to bring in another NBC affiliate,” said Suddenlink’s regional vp, operations Todd Cruthird through the MSO’s blog. Cruthrid said LIN rejected Thurs a pair of last-ditch offers including a standalone channel for the company’s NBC affil.
