Bresnan Communications has announced that Steve Brookstein will now take on the added title of chief operating officer. Brookstein joined Bresnan in 2003 as EVP of operations and will continue to report to Jeff DeMond, Bresnan’s president.

During the last six years as EVP of Operations, Brookstein has had primary responsibility for the operations of the company’s cable TV systems and oversaw the rollout of advanced services. In 2008, he was the recipient of the Vanguard Award for Cable Management and was recently inducted into the 2009 class of Cable Pioneers.

Prior to joining Bresnan, Brookstein held a senior executive management post with DIVA, a VOD solutions provider, and worked as general manager of @Home’s residential business unit. Previously, he spent nine years with Comcast. He first joined the cable industry in the early 1980s at HBO.
