It’s a fun time to be at Cartoon, which is charting its most watched season in its 20-year history. Piper is in the thick of it as chief marketer. Her “Adventure Time” global franchise management approach has become the operating model for other Cartoon brands. Her efforts at Adult Swim have helped to make it a top network among young adults and men. “Success in the workplace is being comfortably challenged and stretched while still having fun,” she says.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The favorite part of my job is seeing the joy on our audience’s faces when they engage with our brands: from watching a show in a screening, playing a branded game on their mobile phone to experiencing us in an amusement park or college tour.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
The biggest story in cable this year has been the plethora of content deals inked by cable content providers and studios with Netflix. The future world order of our business models have changed in a blink.
How do you define success in the workplace?
Success in the workplace is being comfortably challenged and stretched while still having fun.

Best trick for balancing personal-professional life is MANIACAL PLANNING of your calendar. If you don’t protect personal time, it will easily be filled up with work related activities.
Who would you want to swap jobs with for a month and why?
I would love to swap jobs for a month with the show runner of Bravo’s Atlanta Housewives, I would just love to see all the theatre unfold real time. What a hoot!
