Winner
Mark Zuckerman – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic
When Zuckerman’s newspaper eliminated its sports department back in 2010, the Nationals’ beat writer took matters into his own hands by launching his own blog—and getting his fans and readers to help pay for it. In Jan 2011, Comcast integrated the blog into its digital media portfolio, while keeping Zuckerman’s analysis and opinions intact. Today, he continues to blog for NatsInsider.com and also contributes to CSNwashington.com as well as Comcast SportsNet’s TV news. Impressively, traffic to the site has increased 38% over the past year.
