NBCUniversal – NBC Olympics Live Extra
The goal of NBCU’s site ( was to make sure as much live content as possible was available online and via mobile apps to subscribers of its multichannel affiliates. NBCU worked with cable, satellite and telco companies to educate consumers on the authentication process ahead of the Summer Olympics, with efforts including a TV spot featuring Carson Daly, bill stuffers and a sweepstakes to London to encourage subs to authenticate. It worked, with more than 9.9 million devices verified.
