San Diego-based Entropic Communications Inc. just got the green light from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to purchase Trident Microsystems’ set-top-box system-on-a chip (SoC) assets (click here for more information).

The deal now has to go through all the customary closing conditions, but final paperwork could be signed by the end of this month.
